Adam Karabec to Anderlecht

Quiet since 1 August 2026. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri. Probability when it went quiet: 12%.

Anderlecht are in the market for a left-footed attacking midfielder who can also drift wide, and Adam Karabec fits that brief. The 23-year-old Czech is on the move from Sparta Praha, with talks between the clubs described as ongoing. There is no fee to argue over here: with his contract carrying only a club option to June 2026, Karabec effectively arrives as a free agent. The problem is momentum. As of the start of August, the deal had not progressed in 48 hours. This one rests on a single voice for now. Sacha Tavolieri, a reliable operator on Belgian business, reported the discussions and the profile Anderlecht want. His track record carries weight, but one source is one source, and even he signs off with a plain "Wait & See". Nobody else has corroborated it yet. Call it a long shot as things stand. The framework is attractive, a free transfer for a player valued at around €7m, and Anderlecht clearly have a defined role in mind. What is missing is forward motion. For this to complete, the stalled talks need to restart and turn into concrete terms rather than exploratory contact. A deal that goes quiet for two days is not a deal that is close. Anderlecht know this market well. They brought players in from Nice for €5m in 2023, from Sint-Truiden for €5m in 2025, and from Standard Liège for €5m in 2025. Against those figures, a free transfer for Karabec would be comfortably in keeping. Watch for the talks to reopen. Any sign of agreed personal terms, or a second reporter backing the story, would lift it off the floor.
