Albert Gudmundsson to Atalanta

Quiet since 7 July 2026. Last report: Alfredo Pedulla. Probability when it went quiet: 8%.

Albert Gudmundsson, 29, is attracting interest from Atalanta while under contract with Fiorentina until the summer of 2029. Alfredo Pedulla reported on 7 July 2026 that Atalanta have made enquiries about the Iceland attacker, with one route in the speculation pointing clearly toward Bergamo. A figure of €12m has been floated as a bid, with the range of discussion sitting between €12m and €18m against a market value assessed at roughly €12m. Both reports come from a single source, Alfredo Pedulla, who carries a solid but not elite reputation on Italian transfer news. There is no corroboration from a second voice yet, which keeps this firmly in the early-interest category rather than anything more advanced. This is a long shot for now. Atalanta have asked questions but have made no formal offer, and Fiorentina hold all the contractual power with three years remaining on Gudmundsson's deal. For this to move forward, Fiorentina would need to agree to sell at a fee that likely sits toward the top of the reported range, and Atalanta would need to convert their interest into a concrete proposal. Fiorentina paid €17m to sign Gudmundsson from Genoa in 2025, so selling him at €12m would represent a loss on that outlay inside a year. Atalanta have form for deals in this bracket: they signed players from Juventus and from Middlesbrough for €17m apiece in 2021 and 2017 respectively, so the fee level here is familiar territory for the club. The clearest signal to watch for is whether Atalanta table a formal bid and, if so, whether Fiorentina engage or shut the conversation down immediate
