Aleksandar Pavlovic to Lazio

This move fell through. Last report: Alfredo Pedulla, 27 June 2026.

Lazio's interest in Aleksandar Pavlovic is real but stuck at an awkward stage. The 22-year-old Germany midfielder is contracted to Bayern München until June 2029, yet the latest word is that personal terms between the player and Lazio were settled roughly ten days ago. What remains is the hardest part: prising him from Bayern. Fresh talks are expected to secure the Bavarians' green light, with a fee being floated anywhere from £55.4m to £78.2m, well north of his £47m valuation. This rests on a single source for now. Alfredo Pedulla, a reliable and well-connected Italian voice, reports that Pavlovic is keen to push the move through and that new dialogue with Bayern is planned. That is a credible link, but it is one reporter rather than a chorus, and there is no sign yet of Bayern engaging on the numbers. The chance reads as against the odds. The player wanting it and an agreement on personal terms count for something, but the gap between Lazio's likely budget and a fee that could reach £78.2m is the obstacle. Bayern hold all the cards on a midfielder tied down to 2029, and nothing suggests they are minded to sell. Lazio's recent buying tells its own story. Their bigger outlays have been the £18m for a Fenerbahçe arrival in 2020 and £16m from New York City; £15m from Sevilla in 2018 and £14m from Juventus in 2025 round out the pattern. A fee in the £55m-plus range would dwarf anything in that history. Watch for Bayern's response to the planned talks, any softening on the fee would be the first genuine sign of movement.
