Aleksandar Pavlovic to Manchester City

This move fell through. Last report: Florian Plettenberg, 6 October 2026.

The move is dead for now. Manchester City tried to sign Aleksandar Pavlovic from Bayern Munich, pushing hard since March, but the interest did not survive into a deal. Bayern were told City would pay up to €100m, yet that number was rejected and City went elsewhere, bringing in Bouaddi and Fernandez instead. Pavlovic remains at Bayern under contract until 2029. The story was broken by Florian Plettenberg, a well regarded reporter whose detail here is specific: concrete talks, a named figure, and a clear timeline running from March to the rejected bid. Christian Falk, another credible voice in German football reporting, corroborated the collapse in early September, stating plainly that City had failed in their move. Two separate reporters landing on the same outcome gives this real weight, even though neither has produced a fresh update since. Call this a long shot from here. For it to happen again, City would need to come back with a number well above the €100m already turned down, given Pavlovic's market value sits near €91m and Bayern showed no appetite to sell even at nine figures. Nothing in the reporting suggests Bayern's stance has softened, and Pavlovic himself was described as honoured by the interest rather than pushing to leave. Watch for any sign City return with a revised bid once their current midfield additions settle, or for Bayern to issue clearer public comment on Pavlovic's long-term role. Until a new number lands on the table, this one stays filed as interest without a deal.
