Álex Moreno to Deportivo La Coruña

This move fell through. Last report: Foot Mercato, 29 July 2026.

Deportivo La Coruña want Álex Moreno, and the two clubs are talking. A €1m bid has been on the table since late July, and as of the most recent update the deal is not closed but the conversation between Girona and Deportivo is still open. The 33-year-old left-back has yet to commit to any club, and Rayo Vallecano, Osasuna and Orlando City have all been mentioned as alternatives, though none of those has produced a bid in this file. The story has been broken and followed almost entirely by two voices. Santi Aouna first flagged Deportivo's interest, then confirmed the €1m offer, both rated at a solid mid-tier credibility. Foot Mercato has independently reported the same €1m figure and now adds the detail that talks remain open. Two separate outlets landing on the same number gives this real weight, even if neither is the very top tier of reporting. This looks a strong chance rather than a coin flip. Moreno is out of contract thinking territory at Girona, his market value sits close to the fee being discussed, and Deportivo have already moved from preparing a bid to actually submitting one. What could still stall it is the player's own indecision, with three other suitors circling and no sign yet of him choosing. Girona have sold at this level before. They let a player go to Real Oviedo for €2m in 2025, and moved others to Elche and Alavés for €1m apiece back in 2021, so a fee in the €1m to €2m range for a squad player fits their recent pattern exactly. Watch for Girona's response to the €1m bid. A shift in valuation, a second offer, or Moreno finally ruling out Rayo, Osasuna
