Alexsandro to Ipswich Town

Quiet since 29 June 2026. Last report: Fabrizio Romano. Probability when it went quiet: 8%.

Ipswich Town have made an initial approach to sign Alexsandro, the 26-year-old Brazil defender, from Lille. The interest is live but early: talks are underway around a fee reported near €30m, with Ipswich among several clubs keen on him. Alexsandro is under contract at Lille until June 2028, so the French side hold every card and no urgency to sell. This is an approach, not an agreement, and the gap in valuation is already clear. The story comes from Fabrizio Romano, a benchmark reporter whose word carries real weight, and he has tagged it as an exclusive. That is the strength here and also the limit: this is a single credible voice rather than something corroborated across several. One reliable source has it, and no more. The chance is slim for now. Ipswich have put in a €19m bid against a €30m asking price, and the fee being discussed sits somewhere in the €19m to €26m range. For this to move, Ipswich must climb toward Lille's number, and Lille must decide to cash in on a player they are under no pressure to release. As things stand it is a longshot, held back by both the money and Lille's comfort. Alexsandro's own history offers little precedent for a fee like this. He arrived at Lille from Chaves for just €2m in 2022, and Lille's dealings can run modest, as with their free sale of LOSC Lille B to KVC Westerlo. A jump to Premier League money would be a very different scale. Watch for Ipswich to raise their offer toward the €30m ask. A bid accepted, or a rival club firming up, would be the next real trigger.
