Alfie Dorrington to Pogon Szczecin

This move fell through. Last report: Ben Jacobs, 24 July 2026.

The proposed move of Alfie Dorrington to Pogon Szczecin has collapsed. Tottenham and the Polish club had reached an agreement in principle on a permanent transfer, with the fee set at €1m, but the 21-year-old defender has had a change of heart and pulled out. Dorrington is now searching for a new club, with England his preferred destination, leaving this deal dead. Ben Jacobs, a highly reliable source credited with breaking the original terms on 22 July, confirmed the collapse on 24 July with an exclusive. Nizaar Kinsella had corroborated the fee agreement the same day Jacobs first reported it. That is two strong, independent voices aligned on the build-up, and one of those same sources confirming the conclusion. The sourcing on both the agreement and the breakdown is solid. With the player himself having walked away, this particular deal is a long shot to be revived. Personal terms were never finalised, and Dorrington has made clear he wants to stay in England. They signed from MSK Zilina for €1m in 2022 and from Vejle BK for €1m in 2025, so a €1m outlay for a young defender fits their transfer approach precisely. Tottenham also have recent precedent selling at this level, having moved a player to Charlton for €1m. The trigger to watch is whether an English club lodges a firm approach for Dorrington. Tottenham hold him under contract until June 2029, so any move requires them to sanction a sale, and the player
