André Almeida to Swansea City

This move fell through. Last report: Anthony Joseph, 6 August 2026.

Swansea City are pushing to land André Almeida, the 26-year-old Portugal midfielder, from Valencia. The reporting puts the two clubs close to a deal worth £5.2m, structured around an initial £3m fee plus £2.2m in add-ons, with a sell-on clause built in too. That framework matters because Almeida is tied to Valencia until June 2029, so the Spanish side hold the leverage on price. A fee in the €5m to €6m range is on the table, roughly in line with his €6m market value. The story comes from Anthony Joseph, a well-regarded voice who rates highly for reliability. That gives it real weight. The caution is that this rests on a single source for now, without wider corroboration, so it is a strong lead rather than a chorus. The chance is finely balanced. The structure of the deal is already sketched out, which points to genuine progress, but nothing is signed and the two sides still need to lock down the exact split between the guaranteed money and the add-ons. Get the fee agreed and this moves quickly; stall on it and the whole thing cools. Valencia have form for selling at this level. They sold to Brighton for €6m in 2017, moved a player to Al-Ahli for €5m, and took €6m for a sale to Málaga CF in 2011. A €5m to €6m Swansea offer sits comfortably inside that pattern. Watch for the fee to be formally agreed, which is the one hurdle left. A booked medical would then signal the deal is all but done.
