Ben Nelson to Torino
Quiet since 10 July 2026. Last report: Fabrizio Romano. Probability when it went quiet: 4%.
Torino have made their interest in Ben Nelson concrete. The Serie A side have lodged an official bid for the 22-year-old Leicester City defender, and Leicester have turned it down. The player himself is pushing for the exit: Nelson has told Leicester he wants to leave and has rejected a new contract offer, leaving just one year on a deal that runs until June 2027. The fee under discussion sits between €1m and €1m, against a market value of around €1m. This comes from Fabrizio Romano, about as authoritative a voice as this business has. That gives the core facts real weight. The caveat is that it rests on a single report so far, with no second reporter corroborating the state of the talks, so the detail beyond the rejected bid is thin. The chance is a long shot for now. Leicester have already said no once, and while Nelson wanting out and running down towards his final year strengthens his hand, the clubs are apart on price. For this to move, Torino need to raise their offer closer to Leicester's valuation, or Leicester decide a player who has refused fresh terms is worth cashing in on cheaply. As it stands, the rejected bid is the whole story. Torino's recent recruitment suggests the numbers fit their habits: they paid €2m to sign from Hellas Verona, €2m from Dynamo Moscow, €2m from Lechia Gdansk in 2017 and €2m from US Palermo in 2011. A Nelson deal at €1m to €1m would sit below even those. The next trigger is a second, improved bid from Torino, or clear signs Leicester will accept a modest fee rather than lose him for nothing in 2027.
