Bruno Zapelli to Racing Club

Quiet since 13 August 2026. Last report: German Garcia Grova. Probability when it went quiet: 11%.

Racing Club are reported to be negotiating with Athletico PR over a return for Bruno Zapelli, the 24-year-old Argentine midfielder who left Belgrano for the Brazilian side in a €4m deal. Zapelli remains under contract in Serie A until July 2028, and no fee or terms have been agreed. The figures being floated sit between €3m and €5m, roughly in line with his current market value of around €5m, but this is talk of talks rather than anything close to a done deal. The story rests on a single report from German Garcia Grova, a source with reasonable standing (rated 74 out of 100 for credibility) who posted a week ago that Racing were negotiating for the player. No second outlet has corroborated the claim since, and there is no word from Athletico PR or Racing themselves. That makes this a lone mid-tier link rather than a story with any real weight behind it yet. The chance of this move happening is slim for now. Zapelli has three years left on his contract, which gives Athletico PR no pressure to sell cheaply, and Racing would need to firm up a concrete offer just to get talks moving properly. Oviedo are also credited with interest, which only dilutes Racing's position further. Until a fee is confirmed or a second source picks up the thread, this sits as a long shot. Racing have paid similar money for players before, handing over €4m for both Atlanta's and Gimnasia's men, and €3m each for signings from Alavés in 2025 and Defensa in 2023. A fee in the €3m-5m range for Zapelli would fit comfortably within that pattern. Watch for a second source confirming talks, any official appro
