Can Uzun to Galatasaray

Galatasaray have registered concrete interest in Can Uzun, the 20-year-old Türkiye midfielder, but this remains an early-stage pursuit rather than a deal in motion. A first bid, reported at £29.8m, has already been rejected, and a wide valuation gap separates the two camps: Galatasaray are working around the mid-thirties in millions while Frankfurt value the player far higher. Crucially, there has been no club-to-club approach yet, with everything pushed back until after the World Cup. The sourcing is a mix of solid and contested. Daniele Longo, a reliable voice, frames this as "concrete interest only" with no agreement or advanced talks. Türkiye outlets NTV Spor, Fotomac and A Spor supply the swirling fee figures, a £29.8m rejected bid, a £51m asking price, £34m bids reported, which signals an active conversation in the press but not a settled negotiation. The engine reading means this is against the odds without being dead. For it to complete, the fee gap has to close sharply and Galatasaray must actually open formal talks, neither of which has happened. Holding it back: a rejected opening bid, a contract running to 2029 that hands Frankfurt strong retention, and a deliberate pause until the World Cup ends. Galatasaray's recent recruitment shows the bracket they operate in, Monaco to Galatasaray for £26m and Trabzonspor to Galatasaray for £23m in 2025. The fees discussed here sit above those, underlining why Frankfurt can hold firm. Watch for the first sign of a club-level approach once the World Cup passes, an improved bid, or Frankfurt softening their valuation.
