Chrystian Barletta to Botafogo

Quiet since 23 July 2026. Last report: Vene Casagrande. Probability when it went quiet: 5%.

Botafogo made a €2m offer for Sport Recife attacker Chrystian Barletta, 25, but Sport have refused it and made clear they do not want to sell. Botafogo verbally raised their offer, yet Sport held firm. According to the latest reporting, talks are now closed. Both updates come from Vene Casagrande, a Brazilian journalist with a solid track record on domestic transfer news. This is a single-source story, but that source is credible and consistent, having filed both the original bid report and the subsequent rejection on the same day. This looks a long shot right now. Sport have described Barletta as fundamental to their season, rejected a raised verbal offer and shut down the conversation. For the move to revive, Botafogo would need to come back with a figure that genuinely changes Sport's mind, and there is no sign that number exists yet. His contract runs until the end of 2028, so Sport hold all the leverage. Botafogo have a recent habit of operating in exactly this fee bracket. They signed players from Nacional for €3m in 2026, from Salt Lake for €2m in 2024, from Krasnodar for €2m in 2025 and from Wanderers for €2m in 2023. The money being discussed for Barletta fits that pattern squarely, even if Sport's valuation of him sits at the ceiling of the range. The concrete trigger to watch is whether Botafogo come back with a formal bid above the €3m threshold. If Sport maintain their position and no new offer arrives, this one quietly dies.
