Curtis Jones to Nottingham Forest
Quiet since 14 July 2026. Last report: Fabrizio Romano. Probability when it went quiet: 2%.
Nottingham Forest looked at Curtis Jones early in the window, wanting to reinforce the middle of the pitch after Elliot Anderson's €136m departure. A €25m approach was made and rejected, sitting well short of Liverpool's €47m valuation. Since then the picture has cooled sharply. The most recent credible signal points to Jones edging towards a renewal at Liverpool, whose midfielder is under contract until June 2027. That would blunt any exit, and right now the story is drifting rather than building. Ben Jacobs framed the original interest on 28 June, a reliable voice who set out Forest's intent and the numbers involved. Fabrizio Romano, a benchmark reporter, surfaced on 14 July. Even so, this remains a thin link rather than anything corroborated as advancing, and the sourcing leans on early interest rather than fresh momentum. This is a long shot as things stand. The gap in money tells the story: Forest offered €25m, Liverpool want €47m, and a rejected bid has not been followed by a serious second attempt. For it to revive, Forest would need to move much closer to the asking figure and Liverpool would need to cool on keeping him. The renewal noise pulls the other way. Liverpool have shown before what they expect for a midfielder. They sold to Bayern Munich for €32m in 2022, banked €26m from Sheff Utd in 2020 and took €25m from Southampton in 2019. Against that history, €25m for a first-team player valued around €35m looks light. Watch for a second Forest bid nearer €47m, or firm confirmation of a Liverpool renewal that closes the door.
