Daijiro Chirino to Valencia

Valencia have made a second verbal approach for Almería right-back Daijiro Chirino, only for Almería to turn it down flat. The 24-year-old Curaçao international is under contract until June 2030, and Almería are making clear they have no intention of letting him go. Valencia's latest offer stands at €1m, below what Almería consider fair for a player they rate highly enough to lock into a six-year deal. Every piece of reporting here comes from Matteo Moretto, who covers Spanish football closely and sits just above the middle of the reliability table. He broke both developments, on 15 and 18 July 2026, making him the sole named source. That is an honest single-reporter picture, not corroborated by a second independent voice yet. This is a long shot at the moment. Almería have rejected two verbal bids and stated openly they do not want Chirino to leave. For the deal to get done, Valencia would need to push their offer closer to the €2m upper end of the range being discussed, and Almería would need a reason to change a position they have held firmly. Neither condition looks close to being met right now. The fee bracket is familiar territory for Valencia. Their previous signings from Real Madrid (€1m, 2016), Basel (€1m) and Alavés (€1m) all landed in the same range, so the financial logic is not unusual.
