Djaoui Cissé to Juventus
This move fell through. Last report: Santi Aouna, 1 September 2026.
Djaoui Cissé is staying put. The 22-year-old France midfielder has turned down a move to Juventus and decided to remain at Rennes, ending Serie A interest that had been priced somewhere between €14m and €19m. Cissé is tied to Rennes until June 2030, so the club held every card, and the player himself has now closed the door. For a talent valued around €10m, the mooted fee sat comfortably above his market price, yet none of that mattered once the player said no. The key line comes from Santi Aouna, a well-regarded source who scores 79 out of 100 on our reckoning. He reported the refusal as an exclusive on 1 September 2026. It is a single, credible voice rather than a wave of corroboration, but Aouna is a reliable name and the message is unambiguous: Cissé has said no. This one is a long shot now, and the reason is simple. A transfer needs a willing player, and Cissé has decided he wants to stay. Unless he reverses that stance, there is no deal to be done, whatever fee Juventus put on the table. With a contract running to 2030, Rennes feel no pressure to sell either. Juventus have paid this kind of money before for imports of this profile. They took a Genoa player for €16m in 2026, spent €16m on the same route in 2018, and signed from Lille for €16m in 2025. The fee here would have fitted that pattern neatly. The obstacle was never the price. What could revive it? Only Cissé changing his mind, or a fresh Juventus approach that shifts his thinking. Neither looks imminent.
