Djaoui Cissé to Strasbourg

Djaoui Cissé wants out of Rennes and into Strasbourg, and the personal side of the deal is already sorted. The 22 year old midfielder has given his word to RCSA, but the two Ligue 1 clubs are still some distance apart on what he is worth. Rennes are said to be holding out for a fee between €14m and €19m, well above his estimated market value of around €10m, and a contract running to 2030 means they have no urgency to sell cheap. The story was broken by Santi Aouna, who reported the player had agreed terms with Strasbourg and that the clubs still needed to find common ground on the fee. Flavien Trésarrieu followed up the same day, confirming talks were live between the two sides. Both carry solid credibility and are saying the same thing, though neither has put a number on when or whether the fee gap closes. The personal terms being done matters, but it counts for little while the transfer fee remains unresolved. Rennes hold the leverage of a long contract and look in no rush to budge, which makes this one to file under a long shot for now rather than anything close to done. It will take a real concession on price from one side, most likely Rennes softening their demand, for this to move from talks to an actual deal. Strasbourg have paid big for reinforcements before, handing Alavés €17m and Chelsea €15m in 2025 for other signings, so a fee near €14m to €19m for Cissé would sit comfortably within their recent spending pattern.
