Dodi Lukébakio to Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş are in talks with Benfica over Dodi Lukébakio, the 28-year-old Belgium attacker. The two clubs are negotiating a fee somewhere between €17m and €24m, a stretch above the player's market value of around €15m. Lukébakio is under contract until 2030, so Benfica hold the whip hand and can hold out for a price they like. Nothing is agreed yet; this is a live negotiation rather than a done deal. The report comes from Loic Tanzi, a well-regarded voice who carries a strong credibility rating. That said, it is a single link at this stage rather than something corroborated across several reporters. One reliable source pointing to active talks is worth taking seriously, but the thinness of the wider coverage means caution is sensible. This one is genuinely in the balance. For it to complete, the clubs need to close the gap between what Beşiktaş will pay and what Benfica want for a player tied down until 2030. The long contract is the main brake here, giving Benfica no pressure to sell cheap. Real interest exists on both sides, but the money is the sticking point. Benfica have form for selling into the Super Lig at this level. They sent a player to Fenerbahçe for €23m in 2025, and the €17m to €24m being discussed here sits right in keeping with that. Earlier sales to Valencia for €20m in 2015 and GZ Evergrande for €19m in 2019 fit the same bracket. Watch for Beşiktaş firming up a formal bid, and whether Benfica signal any willingness to move on their asking price.
