Dodô to Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Dodô from Fiorentina before the window shuts, and the numbers are moving fast. An opening €7m bid was turned down as too low, but Forest came back with €9m plus €2m in add-ons. Fiorentina have not accepted, though the gap that once looked wide is closing. Olympiakos were mentioned as suitors but were never seriously in the race. The story has been carried almost entirely by Gianluca Di Marzio, a heavyweight Italian broadcaster whose figures on both the rejected €7m and the improved €9m plus €2m offer have gone unchallenged. Alfredo Pedulla, another well regarded Italian source, has since confirmed the shape of it and added that Forest are preparing a fresh offer with little time left on the clock. Two credible voices telling the same story gives this real weight, even without an English source yet attached. Call it a long shot for now, though not a hopeless one. Fiorentina's resistance on price is the real obstacle, not any doubt over Forest's interest. Dodô's contract running to 2027 gives Fiorentina room to hold firm, and his market value near €16m makes €9m plus €2m look like a discount they may still resist. If Forest stretch further, or Fiorentina's resolve softens as deadline pressure builds, this could move quickly. Fiorentina have sold at this level before.
