Edmund Baidoo to Club Brugge

This move fell through. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri, 3 August 2026.

Salzburg have shut this down for now. After rejecting three separate Club Brugge offers, most recently a €10m package having earlier knocked back a €12m package, the Austrian club has told the Belgian champions that Edmund Baidoo is untransferable this summer. Instead, word is a verbal agreement exists for Baidoo to join Brugge in the summer of 2027, though that arrangement is described as general rather than tied specifically to Brugge. For now, the 20-year-old stays in Salzburg colours. Everything here traces back to one voice. Sacha Tavolieri broke the initial interest on July 21 and has followed it right through to this week's update, giving a consistent single-source thread rather than corroboration from elsewhere. His credibility rating sits at 79 out of 100, which counts for something, but nobody else of note has independently confirmed the untransferable declaration or the 2027 verbal deal. Treat it as well-sourced but still uncorroborated. This summer, call it dead. The chance of Baidoo in Brugge colours before September has gone from live talks to a longshot, and Salzburg's public stance leaves little room for a swift reversal. What would need to change is a fresh valuation shift or Salzburg deciding the fee finally justifies a sale now rather than in two years. Right now the structure of the reported agreement, a wait until 2027, suggests patience has already won out over urgency. Brugge know this market. They paid €11m for a player from Ludogorets in 2023, €10m for one from Midtjylland, €10m for one from Inter and €9m for one from Stade Reims, so a fee in the €9
