Eliezer Mayenda to Porto

Quiet since 29 June 2026. Last report: Keith Downie. Probability when it went quiet: 22%.

Porto are casting an eye over Sunderland's young attacker Eliezer Mayenda, with the Portuguese side reported to be monitoring the 21-year-old ahead of a possible move this window. For now this is interest and nothing more: there is no bid, no negotiation, and crucially Sunderland hold him on a contract that runs until June 2030. The numbers being floated sit between £18.2m and £25.7m, comfortably above his roughly £14m valuation, which tells you how firmly the selling club can dig in. The link rests on a single source: Keith Downie, a credible voice, who reports Porto's monitoring and notes Mayenda scored twice for Sunderland last season with four years left on his deal. That is honest, useful reporting, but it is one thread rather than a chorus, no second outlet has corroborated it, and nothing suggests talks have begun. This is against the odds as things stand. With a deal stretching to 2030, Sunderland have no need to sell and every reason to hold firm, so Porto would have to commit serious money to even open the door. Early-stage admiration would need to harden into a concrete, top-of-range bid before this looks real. The money is not fanciful for Porto, who have repeatedly paid in this bracket, Barcelona to Porto for £18m, Braga to Porto for £17m in 2022, Copenhagen to Porto for £17m. Sunderland themselves banked £26m selling to Dortmund in 2025, a useful marker for what they expect. Watch for a first formal approach, any sign of talks opening, or Rennes firming up their own interest and forcing Porto's hand.
