Farès Ghedjemis to Celtic

This move fell through. Last report: Gianluca Di Marzio, 4 August 2026.

Celtic have opened the bidding for Farès Ghedjemis, and Frosinone have said no. The Scottish champions tabled an offer worth around €7m for the 23-year-old Algeria attacker, and the Serie A side knocked it back. Frosinone would prefer to keep a player they only signed in 2024, but Celtic are pushing hard. Ghedjemis is under contract until June 2028, which strengthens Frosinone's hand and lets them hold out for a fee closer to the top of the €7m to €10m range being discussed. The reporting here is solid. Anthony Joseph, a reliable voice on Celtic business, carried the detail of the rejected offer, while Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the most trusted names on Italian transfers, confirmed Celtic's approach for the player. Two credible sources pointing the same way, though the concrete detail so far runs only to a single opening bid and a firm rejection. This one is against the odds as things stand. Celtic have shown intent, but a first offer has already been turned down and Frosinone are under no pressure to sell a man tied down for two more years. For it to move, Celtic will need to close the gap to Frosinone's valuation, and the Italian club will need to soften their stance on keeping him. The money fits Celtic's recent pattern. They paid €7m to bring in players from both Sheff Utd and Tottenham in 2022, and went to €10m for signings from PSG in 2018 and Norwich. A €7m to €10m outlay here would sit squarely in keeping with that. Watch for an improved Celtic bid. If they push toward €10m and Frosinone blink, this comes alive quickly.
