Frank Magri to OGC Nice

This move fell through. Last report: Santi Aouna, 31 July 2026.

Frank Magri's move to OGC Nice looked settled. The 26-year-old Cameroon attacker is a free agent, out of contract at Toulouse from 30 June 2026, and Nice reached an agreement with a medical already scheduled. Then a complication arrived. A Qatari club has pushed hard over recent hours, and Magri could yet change direction, leaving a done deal suddenly less certain than it was. Every thread here traces back to Santi Aouna, a well-regarded reporter carrying real weight. On 29 July he had Nice advancing, the profile approved across the club's hierarchy, and a medical booked. Two days later the same source flagged the Qatari intervention. This is single-source reporting throughout, but from a credible voice, and the updates line up rather than contradict one another. The balance is genuinely tilted towards Nice. An agreement exists and a medical was arranged, which is about as far down the road as a free transfer gets before signatures. What holds it up is the late Qatari money, and on a free deal a rival can move fast. For Nice to close it, they simply need Magri to keep his word and complete the medical before anyone turns his head. On fee, this sits neatly in Toulouse's world. They sold to Sparta Prague for €2m in 2024, to Lorient for €2m back in 2020, and to Newcastle for €2m. Magri himself cost €2m from Bastia. A free move for a player valued around €3m is fully in keeping. The next trigger is simple: the medical. If Magri reports to Nice and passes it, this is essentially done. If the Qatari club firms up an offer first, the plan unravels.
