Gabriel Bontempo to FC Bayern

Quiet since 14 July 2026. Last report: Florian Plettenberg. Probability when it went quiet: 5%.

As things stand, there is very little to this one. Gabriel Bontempo, the 21-year-old Santos midfielder tied to a contract that runs until the end of 2030, has been linked with a move to FC Bayern, with a fee floated somewhere between €11m and €16m against a market value of around €9m. The problem is that the link has already been shot down at source. Bayern, according to the latest word, have not lodged an offer and have not even prepared one. So the interest, in any concrete sense, is not there. The reporting is thin and points one way. Florian Plettenberg, a reliable voice on Bayern matters, has actively knocked the story down, calling the reports "currently wide of the mark" and stressing that no bid exists or is being drawn up. There is no second source pushing the other way, no chorus building the case. What we have is a well-placed reporter pouring cold water on it. This is a long shot, and honestly a faint one. For it to gain any life, Bayern would have to actually open a file on the player, agree terms with Santos and get near that €11m to €16m range. None of that has begun. The chance is held down by the simple fact that the buying club has denied any move. History shows Bayern do shop at this price point. They took Basel to Munich for €12m in 2012 and paid Granada CF €13m in 2024, both squarely in the range being mentioned here. Santos, for their part, sold to Lille for €14m. Watch for the first sign Bayern genuinely engage: a scouting confirmation, contact with Santos, or a fee tabled. Until then, this stays parked.
