Gift Links to RC Lens

RC Lens have reached a personal agreement with Gift Links and the South African midfielder is actively pushing AGF to sanction the move to Ligue 1. Lens have already tabled a bid of €2m, which AGF rejected. The Danish club have made clear they intend to hold Links to his contract, which runs until June 2029, and the fee dispute is the only thing blocking a deal that the player himself wants. Both reports come exclusively from Santi Aouna, whose credibility sits in the reliable-but-not-top-tier bracket. He broke the personal agreement on 2 July and had already reported the rejected €2m bid on 20 June. There is no second voice corroborating the story yet, so the sourcing rests on a single journalist who has form on Lens business. The move is finely balanced. Lens and Links have done their part; what remains is a selling club that shows no urgency and holds a contract giving it full leverage. AGF are under no contractual pressure to move, and a €2m bid for a player tied down until 2029 is easy to refuse. Unless Lens raise their offer meaningfully, this could simply stall. Lens have form buying in this price bracket. They paid €3m for FK Sarajevo's player in 2025, €3m to R Charleroi SC in 2024, and €2m to Chicago in 2021, so a fee somewhere in the €2m to €3m range is entirely consistent with how the club operates in the market. The number to watch is any revised bid from Lens. If they move toward €3m or beyond, AGF's resistance becomes harder to sustain publicly. Equally, any signal from AGF that they are open to negotiations would confirm the deal has a real path to completion
