Igor Paixão to Leeds United

Quiet since 11 August 2026. Last report: Santi Aouna. Probability when it went quiet: 9%.

Leeds United have made contact over Igor Paixão, but the Brazilian winger sits only third on their list of attacking targets, and the early approach to his camp has not shifted much. Marseille signed him on a deal running to 2030, he gets on well with manager Bruno Genesio, and his entourage has made clear he will not leave for the sake of leaving. Owner Frank McCourt wants €50m to even discuss it, well above his estimated market value of around €35m, and nothing suggests Marseille are softening that stance. Every scrap of this story traces back to one man, Santi Aouna, who has posted the same update four times without new detail emerging. He carries decent credibility at 78 out of 100, but this is a single voice repeating itself rather than separate outlets confirming the same story. No rival reporter has added weight to it, and no denial has come from Leeds or Marseille either. The honest read is that this one is a long shot. Paixão is settled, his contract runs another four years, and the fee gap between what Leeds might pay and what McCourt is asking looks wide. For this to move, Leeds would need to jump him up their own shortlist and Marseille would need a reason to sell a player they just built around. Marseille paid Feyenoord €30m for Paixão in 2025, so a €50m valuation would represent a healthy profit for them if they ever got it. Leeds, for context, have preferred cheaper development signings in recent windows, including a €6m deal for a Feyenoord youngster in 2020. Watch for any sign Marseille entertain formal contact, or for Leeds to move him higher up their prio
