Jamie Gittens to Fenerbahçe
This move fell through. Last report: Ben Jacobs, 15 August 2026.
There is, in truth, no move here to speak of. Fenerbahçe have issued a public statement denying any interest in Jamie Gittens, the 22-year-old England attacker who joined Chelsea from Dortmund and is tied to a contract until June 2032. Any talk of a fee between €36m and €51m has been shot down at source. The Turkish club called the reports "completely unfounded", and as things stand the story has collapsed rather than cooled. The only credible voice attached to this is Ben Jacobs, a reliable reporter, and what he is actually reporting is the denial itself, not a live pursuit. That matters. This is not a benchmark reporter fuelling a chase; it is a well-sourced relay of Fenerbahçe distancing themselves. There is no corroborated link, no sign of talks, no bid on the table. The sourcing points one way only, and that way is out. So this is a long shot in the fullest sense. For it to revive, Fenerbahçe would have to reverse a formal public denial, and Chelsea would have to accept a figure well below the €56m they paid for Gittens last year. Neither looks close. The market value sits around €30m, and nothing suggests either side is working towards a deal. Fenerbahçe are active buyers, mind. They took Lazio's man for €28m in 2026, spent €23m on a Benfica arrival in 2025, and paid €39m to Marseille. A €36m-€51m outlay would fit their spending, yet the club themselves say this particular one is not happening. The next trigger is simple: a genuine bid, or a softening of that denial. Until either appears, treat it as dead.
