Jamie Leweling to Atalanta
Quiet since 1 September 2026. Last report: Angelo Mangiante. Probability when it went quiet: 48%.
Atalanta are pushing hard for Jamie Leweling, the 25-year-old Germany attacker, and have raised their latest bid to Stuttgart. The Bundesliga club are under no pressure to sell. Leweling's deal runs until June 2029, so there is no ticking clock forcing their hand, and no acceptance has landed yet. The two sides are in advanced talks, but a fee gap remains: Atalanta are working in a range between €42m and €60m against a player valued at around €40m. This is a genuine effort to sign a left-sided attacker, not a passing enquiry. The key update comes from Angelo Mangiante, a well-rated Italian voice, who reports that Atalanta continue to press and have submitted a fresh, improved offer to Stuttgart to win the player over late. For now it rests largely on that single, credible source rather than a chorus of corroboration. The balance sits against the odds. Atalanta clearly want him and are climbing on price, but Stuttgart hold a long contract and have not blinked. For this to complete, the seller has to be convinced by a fee closer to the top of that range, and quickly. The strong contractual position is the main thing holding it back. Atalanta have paid this kind of money before. They took a player from West Ham for €28m in 2023 and one from UD Almería for €30m, so a Leweling deal would sit above their usual outlay. Leweling himself cost Stuttgart just €6m from Union Berlin in 2024. Watch for Stuttgart's response to the raised offer. An accepted bid, or a firm public rejection, is the next real marker.
