Jaouen Hadjam to Genoa

Quiet since 18 July 2026. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri. Probability when it went quiet: 9%.

Genoa are pushing to sign Jaouen Hadjam from Young Boys, with the 23-year-old Algerian left-back identified as one of two priority options for the position. Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported on 18 July 2026 that Genoa are moving firmly for the defender and that conversations with Hadjam's entourage are already progressing, though no formal bid has yet been lodged with Young Boys. The fee range being discussed sits between €6m and €8m, broadly in line with Hadjam's market value of around €7m. This story rests entirely on Tavolieri's exclusive, published on 18 July. His credibility rating is solid without being at the very top of the scale, and there is no corroboration from a second voice at this point. The sourcing is therefore real but thin. On current evidence this looks a long shot. Genoa have only opened dialogue with the player's camp, not with the selling club, and Young Boys hold his contract until June 2028, giving them full leverage. For the deal to complete, Genoa would need to table a bid, Young Boys would need to accept it, and Hadjam himself would need to choose Genoa over any other interest. Each of those steps remains untested. Genoa have recent form for spending in this bracket. They paid €8m for a signing from Marseille in 2024 and €7m in a deal from AC Milan in 2026, so a fee of €6m to €8m for Hadjam fits the club's established pattern at this position. The concrete trigger to watch is whether Genoa convert their informal talks into a written offer to Young Boys. That bid, if it lands, is what turns this from background interest into a live negot
