Jasper Samooja to Helsinki

Quiet since 11 August 2026. Last report: Gianluca Di Marzio. Probability when it went quiet: 8%.

Jasper Samooja looks set to leave Lecce for Helsinki on loan, with an option to buy attached. The move has gone from a simple link to something far more concrete in the space of a day, with medical checks and signing arranged before the club moves on. This is no longer a name being floated. It is a deal being finalised. Gianluca Di Marzio broke the story and has followed it with a firmer update less than a day later, which is the pattern of a reporter tracking a live deal rather than repeating a rumour. He carries strong credibility on Italian goalkeeper business, and the fact that he has updated his own line with specifics on medicals and signings adds real weight. No second source has been needed here because the update itself reads as confirmation in all but name. The chance of this going through now looks strong. Everything left is procedural: the loan terms and the buy option being signed off, then the paperwork completed. Nothing in the reporting suggests any resistance from either side. The only thing that could derail it at this stage would be a medical issue or a very late change of heart, and there is no sign of either. Helsinki have shown they will move for goalkeepers before, having brought in a player from KV Kortrijk for €0m in 2026. Lecce, meanwhile, have been selling assets at far higher fees elsewhere, including deals worth €30m, €25m and €20m, so a free loan exit for a squad goalkeeper fits their pattern of trimming numbers rather than banking cash on every departure. Watch for confirmation of the medical and the formal signing, which Di Marzio has already
