Jules Koundé to Tottenham
This move fell through. Last report: Fabrizio Romano, 29 July 2026.
The short version is that this move is going nowhere. Jules Koundé, 27 and under contract at Barcelona until June 2030, has been linked with Tottenham in recent hours, but the reporting flatly denies there is anything to it. No interest, no negotiations, no groundwork. Any fee talk in the €76m to €107m range is chatter rather than a live discussion, and Barcelona hold a player they value well above his roughly €61m market price on a deal that runs another four years. The sourcing here is thin, and pointedly so. The one credible voice on file, Fabrizio Romano, is not confirming a story but knocking one down: "There's nothing between Jules Koundé and Tottenham despite the links in the recent hours. No interest, no negotiations." That is a benchmark reporter actively pouring cold water, which counts for more than a dozen vague links. As things stand, this is a long shot. For it to gain any life at all, you would need Tottenham to open real contact and Barcelona to signal a player who signed through to 2030 is even available. Neither is true today, and a straight denial from a reliable source is about as firm a red light as this business offers. History shows Tottenham can spend at this level. They paid €108m to Newcastle and €99m to West Ham in 2026, and €65m to Leipzig. Koundé himself cost Barcelona €50m from Sevilla, who bought him from Bordeaux for €35m in 2019. The money would fit. The appetite does not exist. What would change the picture: any hint of genuine contact from Tottenham, or Barcelona softening on a contract that has years to run.
