Julián Quiñones to Chelsea

Quiet since 11 July 2026. Last report: Fabrizio Romano. Probability when it went quiet: 5%.

The story linking Julián Quiñones with a move from Al-Qadsiah to Chelsea rests on Saudi reports, and both of the reliable voices on the case have already knocked it down. As things stand today, Chelsea have not lodged a bid. The 29-year-old Mexico forward is tied to Al-Qadsiah until June 2029, and the club regard him as not for sale. Any deal would need to clear a fee floated somewhere between €17m and €23m, comfortably above his roughly €14m valuation. The two names on this are Fabrizio Romano and Ben Jacobs, both trusted operators. Crucially, neither is pushing the move. Both are doing the opposite: Romano states plainly that Chelsea have sent no bid despite the reports from Saudi, and Jacobs adds that Quiñones is viewed as not for sale. So the sourcing that matters is pouring cold water on it, not fanning it. This is a long shot. For it to gather any real momentum, Chelsea would first have to actually make an approach, and Al-Qadsiah would have to shift from their stance that the player stays. Right now both of those things are missing, which is why the chance sits so low. For context, Quiñones only joined Al-Qadsiah from América for €14m in 2024. Chelsea's recent business at this end includes Leicester to Chelsea at €35m and Fiorentina to Chelsea at €31m in 2015, so the money being floated is modest by their standards. The trigger to watch is simple: an actual bid from Chelsea, and any softening from Al-Qadsiah on selling. Until then, this stays talk.
