Leo Kokubo to Parma

Quiet since 24 August 2026. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri. Probability when it went quiet: 10%.

Parma have emerged as a potential destination for Leo Kokubo, the 25 year old Japanese goalkeeper currently at Sint-Truiden, with the Serie A club exploring him as a possible replacement for Suzuki. The interest is described as fresh rather than advanced, and a French club is also said to have made enquiries, meaning Parma would not have a clear run even if talks progressed. Nothing suggests a bid has been lodged yet. This sits firmly in the rumour stage. The story comes from Sacha Tavolieri, a reporter with strong credibility in this market, posting what he flagged as an exclusive on 24 August 2026. It is, for now, a single source. There is no second voice corroborating the interest, and no word yet from Parma, Sint-Truiden, or Kokubo's camp to firm things up. This looks a long shot at this stage. For it to move forward, Parma would need to firm up their interest into an actual approach, see off the competing French club, and agree a fee with Sint-Truiden somewhere in the €2m to €3m range being floated, against a market value near €5m. Nothing in the reporting suggests talks are advanced, and the single-source nature of the story only adds to the uncertainty. Parma have paid this kind of fee before. They brought in a player from Atalanta for €3m in 2022 and another from Inter for €3m as recently as 2026, so a fee in that region for Kokubo would sit comfortably within their usual business. Watch for a second outlet picking up the story, any sign of a formal offer to Sint-Truiden, or word on how serious that French club's interest actually is.
