Lucas Bergvall to Brighton & Hove Albion
Quiet since 29 July 2026. Last report: Nizaar Kinsella. Probability when it went quiet: 3%.
Brighton are said to be preparing a major push for Lucas Bergvall, the 20-year-old Sweden midfielder Tottenham signed only last year. Spurs value him at €71m, with the fee in this discussion running from €59m up to that €71m mark, and there is no sign yet that the price is scaring off suitors. For now this is early interest rather than anything advanced. Bergvall is tied to a contract until June 2031, which hands Tottenham heavy leverage and no reason to sell. The story rests on a single voice. Graeme Bailey, reporting for TEAMtalk, revealed Brighton are readying their move while noting Nottingham Forest remain very keen. He is a solid source, but this is one report and no benchmark reporter has yet corroborated it, so treat the sourcing as thin. Honestly, this is a long shot as things stand. Brighton would have to commit to a fee near €71m, and even then they are not the only club circling. Forest are the firmer link, with Newcastle also in the picture. A €71m outlay for a player valued around €35m, on a deal running to 2031, is a steep ask, and Tottenham have every incentive to say no. Plenty has to fall Brighton's way. Tottenham paid Djurgården €20m for Bergvall in 2024, the same window after his €1m move from Brommapojkarna to Djurgården in 2023. A resale at three or four times that inside two years would be a remarkable mark-up. Watch for a second reliable source, or a concrete opening bid. Until Brighton put real money down and Forest's interest hardens or fades, this stays speculative.
