Lucas Bergvall to Nottingham Forest

Quiet since 29 July 2026. Last report: Nizaar Kinsella. Probability when it went quiet: 6%.

Nottingham Forest have tried three times to sign Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham and been knocked back every time, most recently with a €54m bid rejected. Forest first moved in June as they looked to replace Elliot Anderson, and their interest has stayed live for weeks, but Spurs are holding firm. The asking price sits north of €53m, Bergvall runs on a contract to 2031, and Tottenham have made clear they have no need to sell. The latest signal from the Spurs camp points toward a renewal rather than an exit, which cools the temperature further. Graeme Bailey has driven this story bid by bid, tracking the rejections from €38m through €45m to €54m, and Ben Jacobs corroborated the Forest interest independently back in June before flagging the €45m offer himself in July. That is two credible, well sourced voices agreeing on the shape of events, even if neither has yet reported a breakthrough. Nizaar Kinsella's more recent involvement adds a third name to the file, though without a fresh figure attached. This one leans against happening. Forest have shown real intent and matched Tottenham's valuation more closely with each bid, but Spurs are not budging on price and the contract situation removes any urgency to sell. Brighton also lurk as a competing suitor, further diluting Forest's path. Call it a long shot for now, kept alive only by Forest's persistence and Bergvall's own openness to the move. Bergvall's market history is short but instructive. Tottenham paid Djurgården €20m for him in 2024, and Djurgården themselves had paid just €1m to Brommapojkarna in 2023. A fee in the €54
