Lucas Passerini to Boca

Quiet since 28 July 2026. Last report: German Garcia Grova. Probability when it went quiet: 12%.

Boca are working on a deal for Lucas Passerini, the 32 year old Belgrano attacker, with talks described as advanced. The move has surfaced as a fallback plan. Boca have found signing Romero and Gondou complicated, and rather than wait on those, they have turned to Belgrano over Passerini, with what is being called optimism inside the club that the deal can close. The fee being discussed sits between €1m and €2m, well within his market value of around €2m, and any agreement would run alongside a contract that could stretch to the end of 2028. The story so far rests on one voice. Cesar Luis Merlo, rated a reasonably credible name in Argentine football reporting, broke the news and remains the only source in the file. There is no second outlet confirming the talks yet, so this is a single strong source rather than a corroborated story. That matters when judging how firm things really are. Given Boca's stated preference was elsewhere, and no fee has been agreed, this looks a long shot for now. It could still happen if Belgrano soften their stance and Boca formally shift focus once Romero and Gondou prove too hard to land. Until then it stays a named option rather than a live deal. Boca have paid €2m for players before, including deals with Tigre, San Lorenzo in 2025, Atlético-MG and Grêmio, so this fee range would sit comfortably with their usual business. Passerini himself moved from Palestino to CD Cruz Azul for €2m in the past, so the numbers here are not out of step with his own market history. Watch for Belgrano's response to any concrete offer, and whether Boca's pursuit
