Mathis Jangeal to Famalicão

Quiet since 19 June 2026. Last report: Marc Mechenoua. Probability when it went quiet: 8%.

Mathis Jangeal, the 18-year-old PSG midfielder, is leaving the club when his contract expires and heading to Famalicão in Liga Portugal. An agreement between player and club has been reached, with the move set to be completed on a free transfer. Jangeal becomes a free agent and Famalicão pay no fee. The story was broken by Benjamin Quarez, one of the most reliable voices on French football, who reported on 19 June that an agreement had been found and that the formalities would follow shortly. Marc Mechenoua of Le Parisien corroborated the news on the same day, framing Jangeal as the latest PSG academy product to move on this summer after Hermann Malonga Diandaga. Two credible sources reporting the same detail on the same day makes the sourcing solid. With an agreement already in place and no fee to negotiate, this looks a strong chance to go through. The main thing standing between Jangeal and his move is the signing of the contract itself. There are no obvious obstacles: no sell-on clause to wrangle over, no rival bid to complicate matters, no compensation due. Famalicão have recent form for this kind of recruitment. They paid €1m for a player from RB Bragantino in 2025 and matched that figure in a deal from Basel in 2026. Taking a free agent of Jangeal's age fits the same template, arguably at even lower financial risk to the Portuguese club. The concrete next step is Jangeal putting his name to a contract with Famalicão. Once that is confirmed, the move is done.
