Mohamed Amoura to RB Leipzig
This move fell through. Last report: Florian Plettenberg, 2 August 2026.
As things stand, there is no live deal here. The idea of Mohamed Amoura leaving Wolfsburg for RB Leipzig has been put out and then knocked straight back. Leipzig say they are not negotiating for the 26 year old Algeria attacker, there are no talks with Wolfsburg, and both clubs deny the story. Leipzig's attention is elsewhere, and Amoura remains under contract at Wolfsburg until 30 June 2029. The only credible voice on file is Florian Plettenberg, a reliable reporter, and his intervention is a firm denial rather than confirmation. He states plainly that Leipzig are not in negotiations, that there are no discussions with Wolfsburg, and that the reports are wide of the mark. So the sourcing does not support the move; it actively pushes against it. This is a long shot. A fee in the €22m to €31m range has been floated, sitting above Amoura's roughly €20m valuation, but a number means little when both clubs deny even talking. For this to revive, Leipzig would have to change course from their current priorities and open genuine dialogue, and Wolfsburg would need to entertain selling a man tied down for three more years. None of that is happening today. For context on the money, Wolfsburg paid €15m to sign Amoura from Union SG in 2025, after his earlier steps from ES Sétif to FC Lugano for €1m and on to Union SG for €4m. A €22m to €31m sale would mark a healthy profit, if it ever materialised. Watch for one thing: any actual contact between the clubs. Until Leipzig drop their denial and open talks, there is nothing to move on.
