Nicolás Laméndola to Newell's

Newell's are working on a deal to sign Nicolás Laméndola, the 27 year old Atlético Tucumán attacker, with Atlético Tucumán ready to sell his contract outright. The two clubs are said to be exchanging paperwork for a permanent transfer, with the plan being for Laméndola to sign through to December 2029, well beyond his current deal at Tucumán which runs to the end of 2026. Nothing has been signed yet, but the framework of an agreement is reportedly in place. The story comes from two Argentine reporters. Cesar Luis Merlo, rated highly for reliability, called it exclusive and described a principio de acuerdo, a preliminary agreement, with documents already being swapped between the clubs. German Garcia Grova, a solid if slightly less trusted voice, backed this up on the same day, saying Tucumán are selling his contract and pointing to the same 2029 date. Two separate accounts landing within hours of each other, both pointing the same way, gives this more weight than a single tip would carry. This sits right in the balance. The reported exchange of documents suggests real momentum, and both sources agree on the shape of the deal and the contract length. But an agreement in principle is not a signed transfer, and Laméndola's modest market value of around €1m means the numbers should be simple to finalise if both boards are genuinely aligned.
