Noah Adedeji-Sternberg to Ajax
Quiet since 6 August 2026. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri. Probability when it went quiet: 4%.
Ajax's interest in Noah Adedeji-Sternberg is real but firmly conditional. The 21-year-old Belgian attacker is under contract at Genk until June 2028, and the fee under discussion sits at €4m to €5m, roughly in line with his €4m market value. The catch is that Ajax only see him as a contingency, an option should Mika Godts depart. Until that domino falls, this is early interest rather than an active pursuit. The story rests on a single source. Sacha Tavolieri, a reliable and well-connected voice, reports that Ajax "could now step up their pursuit," and he himself flags it as "one to watch." That is honest framing: one credible report, no corroboration elsewhere, and language built on conditionals rather than concrete movement. As things stand this is a long shot. For Ajax to properly move, Godts has to leave first, and only then would the Belgian become a genuine target. There is also stronger competition for his signature: Club Brugge look the more likely destination right now. Nothing here suggests talks between the clubs, an agreed fee, or a player pushing for the move. The money is unremarkable for Genk, who know this market well. They sold to Como for €5m and to CA Talleres for €4m, and shifted a U21 player to PSV's U21 side for €5m. A €4m to €5m deal for Adedeji-Sternberg would sit comfortably inside that range. The trigger to watch is Godts. If he leaves Ajax, expect this interest to sharpen quickly. Until then, Club Brugge firming up their own move is the more pressing development.
