Nuno Tavares to Porto

Quiet since 20 August 2026. Last report: Alfredo Pedulla. Probability when it went quiet: 15%.

Porto have been tracking Nuno Tavares for two months, and the interest has now turned into an actual bid. Lazio, keen to sell as they look to trim the squad through a move being handled via Technality, have received an offer of around €2m plus a buy-back right. That is well short of the player's estimated market value of about €12m, and Porto have already been told once to raise their number, much as they did in a parallel pursuit of Gimenez. The Portuguese club are said to rate the 26-year-old highly under coach Farioli, but everything hinges on Tavares himself being open to the move. This story comes almost entirely from Alfredo Pedulla, a reporter with strong credibility on Italian transfer business, who has posted the same offer twice in the space of three days with growing detail each time. Matteo Moretto, similarly well regarded, corroborated the underlying interest a few days earlier, describing contacts as recent and Porto as ready to formalise a bid if Tavares agrees to the switch. Two respected voices telling a consistent story gives this real weight, even if neither has yet reported a breakthrough. The fee gap is the obvious problem. Lazio want closer to Tavares's valuation, Porto have offered a fraction of it, and the buy-back clause suggests Porto are trying to make a cut-price deal more palatable to Lazio rather than meeting them in the middle. Call it finely balanced: there is clear mutual interest, but the numbers still need to move before anyone signs anything. Tavares arrived at Lazio from Arsenal for €6m in 2025, having joined Arsenal from Benfica for €8m
