Oumar Solet to Crystal Palace

Quiet since 28 August 2026. Last report: Flavien Trésarrieu. Probability when it went quiet: 10%.

Crystal Palace have turned to Oumar Solet after their move for another centre back fell through, and the French defender is now the priority target at the back. Udinese are said to have received, or be about to receive, an offer somewhere between €25m and €34m for the 26-year-old, whose Serie A contract runs to 2027 with a club option. Nothing has been accepted yet, and this remains talk rather than an agreed transfer. The story broke through Flavien Trésarrieu, a well-regarded French reporter, who described an offer in the €25m-€30m range being readied for Udinese. Santi Aouna followed with his own line confirming Palace's move for Solet after the earlier target fell away. Alfredo Pedulla, an experienced Italian voice close to Serie A business, then reported a concrete bid heading to Udinese. Three credible reporters converging within a day gives this real weight, even without an official club statement. Call this a long shot rather than a likely deal. Udinese's valuation and Palace's opening numbers sit close enough to suggest talks could progress, but nothing here confirms Udinese are willing sellers at that price. It would take a firm bid landing near the top of that range, and Udinese accepting rather than holding out for more, to turn this from interest into an actual transfer. Palace have paid similar money before. They brought in a defender from Villarreal for €30m and another from Arsenal for the same fee, while a Chelsea signing cost them €23m. A deal for Solet in the €25m-€34m range would sit comfortably within that spending pattern. Watch for Udinese's response
