Rayane Bounida to Borussia Dortmund

Quiet since 16 July 2026. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri. Probability when it went quiet: 9%.

Borussia Dortmund have identified Rayane Bounida as an option, with Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reporting on 16 July 2026 that the 20-year-old Ajax midfielder is on their radar. The crucial caveat is that Dortmund need to shift transfer priorities and make sales before they can properly pursue Bounida, and Ajax, while open to letting him leave, have not been forced into a decision. Tavolieri, who broke the story, carries a reasonable track record without quite sitting at the top of the European reporter tree. Dortmund must first resolve business elsewhere, which means Bounida could easily slip down their agenda entirely. Ajax hold all the cards on a player contracted until June 2028, so there is no urgency on their side to accept a low offer. The fee range is relatively modest and unlikely to be a dealbreaker if Dortmund do eventually firm up, but the structural barriers before that point arrive are real. Ajax have moved players at this level before. Their sale to Roma and two separate deals with Club Brugge, each at €6m, show the club is willing to cash in on squad players at comparable valuations, which suggests a deal in this range would not be out of character. The thing to watch is whether Dortmund complete the sales they need to free up budget. A second source picking up the story would also be
