The 23-year-old Argentine midfielder, under contract until the end of 2027, is set to sign a three-year deal at his new club. The move is at the final stage, with reporting pointing to a completed agreement and a medical to be cleared before he puts his name to the contract. This is well sourced. Cesar Luis Merlo, one of the more reliable voices on Argentine transfers, reported on 9 August that Toloza is a new O'Higgins signing, that Defensa y Justicia are selling him permanently, and that he will sign for three years once the medical is passed, tagging it as done. German Garcia Grova echoed the same the following day. Two credible reporters saying the same thing gives this real weight. Everything points one way. The framing from both sources is that of a completed transfer rather than an ongoing negotiation, so the chance here is about as strong as it gets. What remains is procedural: the medical needs to be cleared and the paperwork signed. Short of an unexpected failure on the physical, there is little left to hold it up. O'Higgins have shopped in Argentina before at this level, having brought in a player from All Boys for €1m back in 2019. A permanent deal for a 23-year-old midfielder sits comfortably in that pattern. The next trigger is the medical. Once Toloza passes it, the three-year contract is signed and the transfer is formally confirmed.
