Sergi Domínguez to Lazio

Quiet since 21 July 2026. Last report: Quotidiano.net / Sport (Italian national outlet). Probability when it went quiet: 14%.

Lazio are pushing to sign Sergi Domínguez, the 21-year-old Spanish defender, from Dinamo Zagreb. The most recent report, from Gianluca Di Marzio on 16 July 2026, has fresh contacts taking place and the shape of a deal moving toward a loan with an obligation to buy at around €12m. Dinamo rejected a €12m bid and held firm at €15m, but Lazio's sporting director Angelo Fabiani travelled to Zagreb for face-to-face talks on 9 July and the gap has since narrowed. The sticking point now is structure: Lazio want a loan plus a purchase obligation; Dinamo want a straight permanent transfer. Domínguez's contract runs until June 2029, which gives Zagreb real leverage to hold their ground. The sourcing is solid. Di Marzio has reported consistently across several dispatches and is corroborated by Sky Sport Italia's Manuele Baiocchini, both of them reliable voices on Italian football. Quotidiano.net and Il Messaggero have added detail on the fee chain. This is not a single, thin link. The move is finely balanced. A deal at €12m looks reachable in principle, and Fabiani's personal visit showed genuine intent from Lazio's side. What stands between interest and completion is the deal structure: until Dinamo accept a loan-plus-obligation framework or Lazio agree to a straight sale, nothing is signed. The long contract keeps Zagreb patient. Lazio paid €14m for a signing from Midtjylland in 2023 and €13m in a deal from Salzburg in 2026, so a figure in the €12m-€15m corridor sits squarely in their recent buying pattern for this type of profile. Watch for Dinamo formally accepting a loan-plus-obli
