Tiquinho Soares to Botafogo

Quiet since 26 August 2026. Last report: Vene Casagrande. Probability when it went quiet: 28%.

Tiquinho Soares, 35, could be on his way back to Botafogo from fellow Serie A side Santos, with no fee involved since his contract situation allows a free move. Nothing is signed. This sits firmly in rumour territory, floated as a reunion between the striker and the club where he previously spent time before his spell at Santos. The story so far rests on one voice: Vene Casagrande, whose credibility sits around the middle of the pack, rated 77 out of 100. He frames the move as sensible rather than transformative, saying Tiquinho would not solve Botafogo's problems but would help the dressing room and cost little to bring in. No second outlet has corroborated the line yet, so this counts as a single, reasonably reliable source rather than a story with broad backing. Call this a long shot for now. A 35-year-old with a market value of around €1m, on a free, is the kind of deal that can happen quickly once a club decides it wants dressing-room experience over upside. But Botafogo have not confirmed interest publicly, and nothing suggests terms are close. For it to happen, Botafogo need to formally move, and Soares needs to want a second spell at this stage of his career. Soares has been part of the Botafogo ecosystem before. He left the club for Santos in a deal worth €3m, and Botafogo have shown a pattern of paying modest fees for players in this bracket, including €2m deals for a signing from Athletico-PR and another from FC Porto B. A free return would be cheap by comparison. Watch for any direct statement from Botafogo's sporting department, or a second reporter picking up
