Trevoh Chalobah to Inter

Quiet since 15 July 2026. Last report: Corriere dello Sport. Probability when it went quiet: 4%.

Inter have pulled back from the chase for Trevoh Chalobah. Chelsea are holding firm at roughly £35m and Inter decided that price was too steep, with Marotta and Ausilio now considering other options. The 27-year-old defender is contracted until 2028 and is understood to be keen on a move. The sourcing is solid. Fabrizio Romano and Daniele Longo, both credible voices, reported Inter's stalled talks on 13 July. Corriere dello Sport corroborated Inter's withdrawal on 15 July. Alfredo Pedullà added the Como angle on the same day. These accounts align tightly rather than contradict each other, which gives the overall picture real weight. For Inter, this is now a long shot. The gap between Chelsea's asking price and what Inter were willing to spend proved unbridgeable, and the club has turned its attention elsewhere. Como remain a possibility but have form for stepping back when fees escalate, having told Inter as recently as 9 July that they would not enter a bidding war. For this to move forward with either club, Chelsea would need to soften their valuation or a buyer would need to meet it. Inter's recent acquisitions give some context. They paid £38m to Sporting and £37m to Real Madrid in 2020, so the £35m Chelsea want is not beyond their range. The reluctance here appears to be about this specific deal rather than any ceiling on their spending. Watch for whether Como submit a formal offer now that Inter appear to have steppe
