Tyrese Asante to Lecce

Quiet since 25 July 2026. Last report: Gianluigi Longari. Probability when it went quiet: 14%.

Lecce are pushing to sign Tyrese Asante, the 24-year-old Dutch defender, from Maccabi Tel Aviv. Gianluigi Longari reports that Lecce are positioning themselves as an alternative buyer, with the fee likely to land somewhere between €1m and €2m against a market value of roughly €3m. Asante is contracted until June 2027, so Maccabi Tel Aviv hold a degree of leverage. This is an early-stage approach on a genuinely crowded front. The story rests on a single source: Longari, who broke it on 25 July 2026. He carries reasonable credibility and has form for accurate Serie A intelligence, but one voice, however reliable, is still one voice. Nothing has been corroborated by a second reporter. This is a long shot for Lecce specifically. Monza moved first, having already made direct contact with Maccabi Tel Aviv, which gives them the running start. Udinese are also circling. For Lecce to land Asante, they would need to overtake two clubs already in the conversation, and nothing in the current reporting suggests they have tabled a formal bid or agreed personal terms. Lecce's recent transfer history suggests the money is entirely in keeping. The club brought in players from Wolfsburg and OH Leuven for €2m apiece, in 2023 and 2025 respectively, and similarly paid €2m for arrivals from Bologna and Córdoba CF. A deal in the €1m, €2m range would sit squarely within their established spending pattern. The clearest next signal will be whether Lecce convert interest into a formal offer, or whether Monza's earlier contact results in a bid being accepted first.
