Warren Bondo to San Jose Earthquakes

Quiet since 1 September 2026. Last report: Napoli Magazine (citing Sky). Probability when it went quiet: 5%.

San Jose Earthquakes have put a serious offer to AC Milan for Warren Bondo, but the midfielder himself has cooled the whole idea. He is not interested in a move to MLS, and Milan's stance now reflects that. The 22-year-old remains under contract at Milan until June 2029, and while his long-term future at the club is still an open question, this particular route looks closed off. Instead, attention has turned to possible interest from within Serie A, though nothing concrete has surfaced there either. The story traces back to a single but well-placed source. Daniele Longo, whose credibility sits high among Italian transfer reporters, broke the news that San Jose had made a genuine offer, only to add in the same breath that Bondo has no appetite for a switch to MLS. No second outlet has corroborated the specifics yet, so this sits as one strong voice rather than a chorus. The chance of this actually happening is slim, and the player's own reluctance is the biggest obstacle. Clubs can negotiate fees all day, but a midfielder who has made clear he does not want to play in MLS is very hard to move there. Barring a dramatic change of heart, this looks like a deal that stalls before it starts. Bondo arrived at Milan from Monza for €11m in 2025, so a fee of €7m to €9m would represent a discount on that outlay, in keeping with other Milan departures such as the €8m Frankfurt sale in 2022 and the €7m Genoa deal agreed for 2026. Watch for whether Milan formally rebuff San Jose's offer, and whether any Serie A club turns interest into an actual approach.
