Will Ferry to Anderlecht

This move fell through. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri, 1 September 2026.

Will Ferry's move to Anderlecht is off. The Belgian club had been tracking the Dundee United defender for weeks, but the arrival of Oleg Reabciuk has closed that door for good. Anderlecht needed a left back, they've now got one, and Ferry is no longer part of the plan. The story has been told almost entirely by Sacha Tavolieri, whose posts traced the whole arc: the interest, the stalled talks over fee, and now the collapse. His August update explained why nothing had been signed, that Dundee United wanted more than Anderlecht were willing to pay. His September post ends it flatly. There is no second voice confirming the collapse, but Tavolieri has been the consistent source throughout, so the sourcing on the outcome itself is solid even if it rests on one reporter. With Reabciuk in and the stated reason for pulling out spelled out directly by Tavolieri, calling this anything but dead would be wishful thinking. For it to be revived, Anderlecht would need another vacancy at left back to open up, or a change of heart entirely, and nothing in the reporting suggests either is close. This one is a long shot now, barely alive. The fee talk never got past €2m, with Dundee United standing firm and Anderlecht unwilling to go higher. That number sits comfortably alongside past Anderlecht business: they paid €2m for a player from NEC Nijmegen, €2m for a Sint-Truiden signing in 2017, another €2m from Sint-Truiden in 2011, and €2m to Salzburg in 2021. Ferry's valuation was never the obstacle to precedent, just to this particular deal. Watch for whether Dundee United open talks elsewhere,
