Williams Alarcón to Atlanta United

This move fell through. Last report: German Garcia Grova, 24 August 2026.

Atlanta United have made a formal offer for Williams Alarcón, and Boca Juniors are at the table. The structure on the desk is a loan with no fee attached, plus an option to buy, which is a low-risk way for the American club to test the 25-year-old Chilean midfielder without committing cash up front. Boca hold his registration through the end of 2028, so any exit right now runs through a temporary deal rather than a clean sale. Talks are live and, on the latest word, could be settled quickly. This rests on a single source. Augusto Cesar reported the formal bid, and he sits in reasonable-but-not-benchmark territory on our scale. His account is specific about the terms, which lends it weight, yet there is no corroboration from a second voice as things stand. Treat it as a credible thread rather than a confirmed one. The chance reads as against the odds for now. A loan with an option is the easiest kind of move to agree in principle, so the framework helps, but nothing is signed and Boca still have to accept the terms of the cession. Until a second reliable report lands or Boca signal yes, this stays a long shot. Boca have shown they will let players go abroad at this level before: Boca Juniors sold to RCD Mallorca for €3m, and to Club Tijuana for €2m. Against those, a no-fee loan asks far less of the buyer, which fits a cautious opening play. Watch for Boca agreeing the loan terms, or a competing club firming up, either of which tips this fast.
